Hello again, Well I figured it was time to give something back to the Morphix team. I have written a script to replace a stock kernel with a custom one. It can be found at http://www.thewybles.com/~charles/replaceKernel.sh.txt I got it to create an iso successfully. Or at least I think it worked. However when trying to add my main module to it I got an error saying that the iso doesn't appear to be a morphix iso. So not sure how useful the script will be :) The script is in CVS of my OSER project under the livecd module in the directory kernel on Source Forge. (cvs.sf.net/projects/oser/livecd/kernel) Any changes or additions that people have are greatly appreciated. They will be credited and merged as appropriate. I will keep messing around with it and try to build a base module iso that I can add my mainmod to. Hope this is of some use. If it saves some time and typos it will be worth it :) I know I have spent the past 8 hours debugging and testing. By the way it wouldn't have been possible without the guide written by g1powermac at http://www.geocities.com/g1powermac/kernel.html I took the commands and modified them for a current 2.6 kernel. Without that I would have taken a good week to figure everything out. Thanks g1powermac! -Charles |
