attaching an example autorun.inf file now (currently named
autorun-morphix.inf it MUST be named autorun.inf to work)
also attaching a Tux icon.
In windows you can test out the autorun.inf files by putting
them at the root of a drive (or network drive), right click
on the autorun.inf file and choose "Install" (disturb your
coworkers by changing the drive icons).
There should be* a web page that autostarts and describes
"What is Morphix?" (linux on a CD etc.)
"How do I use Morphix" (restart your machine, boot
automatically, or maybe need to create a boot floppy, etc).
I know from Knoppix that there is an introductory web page
at startup, is there a similar one for Morphix?
* it is possible, even likely that people will put these CDs
in any machine (from a Playstation to a Stereo to DVD
players). At a recent event we were giving away Knoppix CDs
and people were taking them with absolutely no idea what
they were or how they worked (those who asked assumed it was
documentation and promotional material about 'our company',
they did not realise/understand we were a linux user group).

Back in the day BeOS allowed you to simply click on a
shortcut/start menu item and it would shut down windows and
reboot into BeOS. Similarly there was Loadlin, which made
rebooting into linux as simple as clicking on a shortcut.
Loadlin could be used to put a Morphix shortcut on a
Microsoft Windows Desktop. Unfortunately Loadlin does not
work for Windows NT machines (and possibly not even Windows
ME) which is why you dont hear much about it anymore. http://elserv.ffm.fgan.de/~lermen/
As Morphix is (usually) run from a CD this is a little bit
tricker and would require some way of checking that the CD
was in the drive.
I would put this feature down as a very low priority but
there are certainly plenty of people who still use older
versions of Windows.
If i have time i will figure this out and possibly wrap it
in a nice installer ( http://nullsoft.com/free/nsis/ NSIS is
a free installer from Nullsoft, should not be too hard to
use it up to copy and setup loadlin and the necessary
shortcuts).

kay, as the rest of morphix isn't really stable this
shouldn't have to be on top of our list. Good for a boring
rainy sunday :)

Implemented and great idea. I would add a link to the wiki
Faq of MorphixForFormerWindowsUsers.
