Hi All, I'm having some troubles installing MGW. My system is: - Apache/1.3.34 - PHP/5.2 - Mysql 5.0.32 I understand it may not work with this setup (i.e. php5) but am happy to give it a go. I went through the installation process OK but then encountered a problem at step six. The error message I got was: "Setup died with this message: Connection failed in Step 6: Is your database server still running? (Host localhost, User webuser, Database mgw)" I checked that that MySQL was running - it was. I then double checked that I had entered the database passwords correctly and realised I had made a mistake. I had entered the passwords (for db user and the user with create permissions) the wrong way around. So I just deleted the moregroupware directory and started again by: 1. tar -zxvf moregroupware-core-0.7.4.tar.gz 2. chown -R www-data moregroupware 3. Point my browser to https://myserver/moregroupeware/index.php 4. Follow the link to https://myserver/moregroupware/setup/index.php And rather than see the form to choose a language I get EXACTLY the same error message straight away: "Setup died with this message: Connection failed in Step 6: Is your database server still running? (Host localhost, User webuser, Database mgw)" Is it just a case that I can't use moregroupware with php and mysql 5? Or is there something else I can do? Ta, David |
