Just in case the bug has been fixed since v1.61, please try the new snapshots at http://www.microwerks.net/~hugo/contribute.html I _think_ the bug you're reporting has been fixed but I'd appreciate your feedback on the latest snapshots. If these snapshots get a positive response from the user base then I'll put out another 'point' release. -Hugo -----Original Message----- From: mon...@li... [mailto:mon...@li...]On Behalf Of S Miller Sent: Thursday, March 20, 2003 3:08 PM To: mon...@li... Subject: [Mondo-devel] Fatal mondo-restore error and partial workaround Log file is attached. Additional info: Debian testing/unstable with custom kernel 2.4.20 Using Mondo 1.61/Mindi .81 Debian unstable packages Archive to CDRW runs fine. CDRW's boot to the "boot:" prompt fine. >From "boot:" prompt all options except "expert" fail (log attached) /tmp/mountlist.txt is present, but empty I was able to complete a full restore only as follows: type "expert" at "boot:" prompt type "mkdir cdrom" at expert "#" prompt type "mondo-restore" enter all partitions into blank edit-mountlist screen Mondorestore then partitions, formats, and restores everything successfully. Using the above method to "compare" after reaching expert mode shows ALL files on my system have changed since the backup, all 100,000+ of them. My /etc/fstab follows: # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass> /dev/hda1 /boot ext2 defaults,ro,noatime 0 1 /dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0 /dev/hda6 / ext2 defaults, noatime 0 1 /dev/hda7 /usr reiserfs defaults, noatime, notail 0 0 /dev/hda8 /var reiserfs defaults, noatime, notail 0 0 /dev/hda9 /tmp reiserfs defaults, noatime, notail 0 0 /dev/hda10 /home reiserfs defaults, noatime, notail 0 0 #/dev/hda11 /extra reiserfs defaults, noatime, notail 0 0 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/fd0 /floppy auto defaults, user, noauto 0 0 /dev/sda1 /cf msdos defaults, sync, user, noauto 0 0 /dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 defaults,ro,user, noauto 0 0 /dev/cdrw /cdrw iso9660 defaults,ro,user, noauto 0 0 #/dev/hda2 /win vfat defaults,ro,user, noauto 0 0 Mondo is a great product, and I'm thankful that I can at least complete a successful full restore using the above method. However, I would appreciate any ideas on fixing the above problems, so I can use all of its funcionality. TIA Scott Miller __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
