Built v2.0.0 of mod_dav_acl and installed in patched httpd v2.2.16.
Ran the supplied test script and test no.26 crashed httpd.
Used gdb to trace the problem to the function send_props() in mod_dav_acl.c.
This line...
apr_pool_clear(subpool);
...causes the property database to be closed because that object is stored in a child pool of 'subpool'. When subpool is cleared the child pools are destroyed. The database has a cleanup function registered so the database is cleanly stopped.
Then, when this line is called...
dav_close_propdb(propdb);
...it is operating on freed data structures that no longer have the right values. An attempt is made to close files using invalid file handles and this causes the crash.
I can't see the point of clearing the pool and have fixed my installation by removing that line. An alternative would be to close the database before clearing the pool.
