I was just about to recommend the ModSecurity Handbook, and also the free reference manual that is available on github (https://github.com/SpiderLabs/ModSecurity/wiki/Reference-Manual)  which has the most up to date documentation on ModSecurity currently. I'll also note that Trustwave does offer training, but it doesn't have an online version that is offered currently. I've always been pretty partial to a presentation made at linuxfest some years ago. It's rather outdated now but I've attached it anyway. Hope you find some help. Of course you can use this mailing list as an avenue for finding additional information as well.
