[Mod-security-developers] integrating ModSecurity with ReverseProxy

I am searching for technical guidance and directions on how can ModSecurity
be integrated with 3rd party Reverse Proxy.

 

Is this doable just using the same shim layer interface(api.h) to hook up
Proxy for each phase(5) that being used in IIS and Nginx integration? 

What are the pros and cons by doing so?
