Hello.
We just ran into a problem with official net-snmp mdk package, that kept
sending http request to local apache server every 30s without explicit
configuration for doing it. It appears the reason is the inclusion of
ap2_snmp snmp module in the package at build time, which is not easily
disable at runtime unless listing a tons of values for snmpd -I options.

As the solution given is jsut a workaround, I have a few question that
may help us find a real solution:
- why isn't just -I -ap2_snmp switch enough to disable it, whereas
--with-mib-modules =3D ap2_snmp is enough to build it ?
- couldn't this module get build as a dynamic module instead, as
explained at http://www.net-snmp.org/tutorial/tutorial-5/toolkit/dlmod,
so as to be optionally used at runtime, as apache modules ?
- couldn't this module get build separatly from the core of net-snmpd,
so as to be packaged separatly ?
Thanks for your help.
