permissions support implemented

Permissions support has been implemented, but requires testing. Currently only windows and linux have been tested slightly.

Permission support

File permission support will be added very soon. Within the next few days we should have it working well. Currently the only platforms that will support this feature are Linux and Windows. Theoretically though, all unix environments should be able to support it with a simple recompilation of the native code (stat.cpp).

Also to be added is symbolic link support. Currently, all symbolic links are followed, and this can cause major problems on platforms that support symbolic links since you can get an infinite backup loop going. :) This kind of goes hand in hand with permission support so that's why we're doing both in one shot.... read more

Cross platform backup utility ALPHA released

This is the first Alpha release for Mocha Backup.

Mocha Backup does incremental and differential backups to a ZIP archive. The program can run in a GUI or console only mode. Mocha Backup provides user profiles for storing backup configurations for later use. Our primary intentions are to make it feature rich while still maintaining a simple interface. Currently the GUI interface only provides progress indication. In the future, we will add user profile configuration editing among other things.... read more

Alpha soon to come.

We will soon be going to Alpha release. We've added several features that are useful. I'll be posting a new JAR today.
