Hi, i'm a newbie in MOBAC, and i've experimented with WMS map sources from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
Results are 2 xml-files for BaWue: Baden 1:10000 historic, and Wuerttemberg 1:2500 historic ,
and 1 bsh-file for Bavaria: Bavarian Urblatt 1:25000, and detailed 1:2500
Bayern: 1:25000 (Urblatt) and 1:2500 (cataster map, as used for taxation). I've found these maps already 9 years ago, at that time under 'intergeo14' link. Unfortunately, these maps are no longer linked by Bavarian map institute https://geoservices.bayern.de .
Attention: the coordinates in the Bayern maps don't match! Southern Bavaria is (from coordinates) somewhere in South Africa... Just enjoy the pics.

I've got actual Topographic maps as well (TK50/ 25/ 10...), but only for uncomfortable xml cnnection. Will work on bsh files...
These exist in 2 versions:
- 'staat' (state) for officials - "Ausgabe Staat" - AS.
- 'volk' (People) - for the public. - "Ausgabe für die Volkswirtschaft" - AV. These were limited to GDR state borders, and (reputedly) the Soviet army training areas were shown in somehow smaller size (didn't check that)
To switch from 'staat to 'volk', change the respective line in the xms file:
<layers>staat</layers> --> <layers>volk</layers>
