20030323 RELEASE: MKS Version 1.0.1

MKS Version 1.0.1 was publically released at sourceforge.net on 22/03/2003, and we invite comments, suggestions and bug reports from new and existing users - those installing MKS for the first time and those upgrading their installations from Version 1.0.0.

Version 1.0.1 offers the following significant improvements over the initial public release:

* NEW FEATURE: USER PROFILE SEARCHING
Users may now search for suitable participants for their Projects and other MKS supported activities(including Issues Resolution Projects, Discussion Forums ane messages) by searching MKS User Profiles.
Users can modify or remove their own profile attributes at any time through their user preferences page.

* IMPROVEMENTS: PERSONAL FOLDER CHANGES
Users may now filter their views of items in any of their Personal Folders to show all items or only items of a particular type (currently Issues, Messages and Projects)
In addition, the Personal Folders browser now offers two different ways of listing items - 'By Location' (the original mode supported in Version 1.0.0) and now 'By Type'.
The ability to view Personal Folder items 'By Type' means that a user can view all Issues, Message or Projects at once, regardless of where those particular items have been filed.
The third new feature added to Personal Folders, currently still in development, is the 'Favorites' folder - this offers quick links to areas on the main Knowledge Tree, and is currently offered as a demonstration only - users cannot (yet) define their own favorites using this system.
Finally, a number of bug fixes have been made to allow Netscape users to access these functions without error.

* UPDATED USER DOCUMENTATION
The MKS documentation has been updated to describe the new features. It is currently available only in MS-Word format, though future releases will offer additional formats.
An MKS System Administrator's Manual (covering areas such as User and Group Management, Schema Creation, Phrasebook editing, Backup, Export and Data Restoration) will be published shortly - watch this space.

* UPGRADING TO VERSION 1.0.1
People who previously downloaded and have used version 1.0.0 may upgrade to 1.0.1 without any changes to their database settings, and only minor changes to the config.php initialisation file.
