I am happy to create a new "issue" (enhancement request) on github but 
is one really needed? I mean, is it not as simple as creating in the 
items.mht file a new item with the right group numbers?

The approach of sending different information via different group 
numbers is used for other devices. For example, the leak sensor 
(http://www.smarthome.com/2852-222/INSTEON-Leak-Sensor/p.aspx) sends a 
daily heartbeat via group 4. This plus the information sent by the 
motion sensor via two different groups (low batt and dusk info.).

If a new issue is really needed, should I create one for each specific 
device, or one generic issue to cover all devices (present and future) 
that relay information via different groups?
