Hi, I want to pass also some information on this post. I'm running for almost 10 years a Linux misterhouse server and even its a older system its stil great software. Its doing many homeautomation tasks and integrates and glues all home-automation and Audio and Video systems seamless together in my house. Perl is a easy to learn flexible language where you can glue everything together to a real custom made system. I'm running custom made Misterhouse software and interfacing only with XPL messages to the outside world. XPL is supported by Misterhouse. Each piece of hardware has his own XPL agent which interface bidirectional with the Misterhouse system. The advantage is that you only have to write the XPL interface and dont have to change the Misterhouse interfaces. I reply on these post because i'm busy with integrating a touchscreen functionality like the Openremote solution. I working with "Demopad" More info on http://demopad.com. I was looking for a nice GUI for the Misterhouse system as i couldn't find existing projects. Unfortunaly is the standard ia1,2,3,4,5 webinterface to old and not usable for the normal enduser. I mean wife and kids:) Demopad works on Ipad1,2,3. There is a Windows designer where you can design your own very slick GUI. When you ready you can upload the project to the iPad and its up and running. Demopad works only with UDP/TCP sockets and i communicate only with XPL to the Misterhouse system. I wrote 2 agents. 1 for transmitting status change messages to Demopad, 1 for transmitting the voice_commands to Misterhouse system. The agents converts UDP/TCP messages to XPL and visaversa. Its running very stable and fast and you can connect as many iPads as you want. If you like more info, screenshots on my project i can send more info on this. The combination of Misterhouse and the very nice GUI from Demopad makes this a very powerfull Home Automation system! http://old.nabble.com/file/p34555143/graphics_1_retina.png Garry Doucette wrote: > > Hi Guys > > I just read the message from Dean and thought I would pass along some > information about a great little project that I've now successfully got > working with Misterhouse. > > http://www.openremote.org/display/HOME/OpenRemote > <blocked::blocked::http://www.openremote.org/display/HOME/OpenRemote> > > This is an open source project I think mostly written in Java.
