Surely your ISP allows port 25 our from you to at least their designated relay server for their customers. All ISP's have one, if they have customers. -----Original Message----- From: sean mathews [mailto:mat...@co...] Sent: Friday, April 03, 2009 7:49 AM To: The main list for the MisterHouse home automation program Subject: Re: [mh] Command line email - sendmail? Hay Jim. ? Looks like SSL is your only choice. You could configure your MTA to relay for you using SSL but it sounds like you need a simpler solution. ?http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/att/smallbusiness/bizmail/pop/pop-33.html ? Attached is a patch to handy_net_utilities.pl to support ssl you will need to already have or install Net::SMTP::SSL ? > perl -MCPAN -eshell cpan[1]> install Net::SMTP::SSL I did some testing on it but I can only test so much as I do not have a att.yahoo account. /bin/send_email should also be updated to reflect the new options in the mh.private.ini as well as changes in other places. Adding the configuration lines below to your private ini. net_mail_test_server_send_port=465 net_mail_test_server_send=smtp.att.yahoo.com net_mail_test_server_use_ssl=yes where "test" is the user you have setup already in my case test. Let me know how it goes.
