I have been tinkering with a MythTV xAP connector -- My original schema....could be improved, so I'll probably take another try at it over the summer. It just sends encoder information to misterhouse (idle, recording) with title, channel and time information. It would be nice to figure out a bi-directional link, such that it could be integrated into the mistershouse tv listings (to replace the VCR link), however so far it doesn't look trivial to get this functionality in place. Plus it basically reinvents MythWeb. I am interested in helping make the display options more modular. I've written up a netnotify script that listens to speech and if its a phone call or email, it sends growl notifications to my macs, and uses the smbclient samba utility to send a 'net send' message to windows (2000 & XP, Vista removed the messenger service, so I haven't figured that one out yet) clients. It would be nice to be able to 'hook' into display settings, such that these are more easily configured and supported. I also use the python script xbmcmythtv for my mythfrontend, and have written a python 'listener' that netnotify sends to.
