I added an RFXpower module to monitor my power usage. Problem is, my w800 receiver only takes 32 bits, but the rfxcom transmits and extra 2 bytes (1 data and one of packet type & parity check) In my logs, I'm seeing the following. I'm assuming the rfxpower is transmitting this data, every 10 minutes, but I'm lost on how to handle it. 05/10/07 10:31:31 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 10011100 01001001 00000000 00001111 05/10/07 10:31:31 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 01001001 00000000 00001111 10011100 05/10/07 10:31:31 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 00000000 00001111 10011100 01001001 05/10/07 10:41:44 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 10011100 01000101 00000000 00001111 05/10/07 10:41:44 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 01000101 00000000 00001111 10011100 05/10/07 10:41:44 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 00000000 00001111 10011100 01000101 05/10/07 10:51:56 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 10011100 01001101 00000000 00001111 05/10/07 10:51:56 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 01001101 00000000 00001111 10011100 05/10/07 10:51:56 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 00000000 00001111 10011100 01001101 05/10/07 11:02:07 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 10011100 11111101 00000000 00001111 05/10/07 11:02:08 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 11111101 00000000 00001111 10011100 05/10/07 11:02:08 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 00000000 00001111 10011100 11111101 05/10/07 11:12:16 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 10011100 11010011 00000000 00001111 05/10/07 11:12:16 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 11010011 00000000 00001111 10011100 05/10/07 11:12:16 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 00000000 00001111 10011100 11010011 05/10/07 11:22:27 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 10011100 00011011 00000000 00001111 05/10/07 11:22:27 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 00011011 00000000 00001111 10011100 05/10/07 11:22:27 AM W800: bad initial checksum: 00000000 00001111 10011100 00011011 I should get 6 bytes transmitted, so am I seeing this as 4 bytes + 2 carried forward to next line, or would the extra 2 bytes just vanish ? To complicate things further, I don't even know if the rfxcom thing is working or not. I guess it is, as I've seen the "bad checksum" pop up immediately when I press the button on the rfxpower module to transmit its value, and it "could" be set for 10 minutes transmit interval, not sure. Any ideas / suggestions ? I googled for ages, hoping someone had the same problem, or had even used teh rfxpower module with an rfxcom receiver, but cant find anything.
