I have replaced all of my Insteon equipment (about 7 switches, 2 modules), 11 X10 Swithlincs (that were having issues from time to time), and my remaining JDS Stargate need (with a UPB I/O module). I have spent about 1K on my pilot project. Everything is going extremely well with both the hardware and the misterhouse intergration, so I will be replacing all of my other devices in the near future. (I just heard that WGL is coming out with an RF translator for UPB!) The rational I have for spending the money: I have a somewhat small but upscale ISV business for home automation. X10 and Insteon are not options I am considering anymore due to support calls. I am trying out UPB to eliminate those problems for my customers and support calls. |
