Ewwww.... After looking into this a little more.... I really think a fully automated robot could be integrated into one of these Roombas and fairly cheep too. Once you have a fully working robot, there should be absolutely no problem integrating it into MH More Ideas. RFID tags could be used to give it self awareness of location. This would help with docking for charging. I think that a *WRT54GS v1-v4.0 *could work very well as a brain. It doesn't consume that much power. Well 12v 1.0A (maybe little high) It can be made smaller by gutting it into a new case for it's self and batteries. Writing software maybe a little bit of a problem. I think there is a Perl port! Yep! http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=4122 Other brains could be using a GumStix or Mini-ITX Nano http://people.csail.mit.edu/bpadams/roomba/ The gumstix can run Perl.(microperl) To keep things small and low power. Flash drives, USB WiFi interfaces. OK you've sold me. I'm going to start looking for a cheep price on a Roomba! :-D |
