Hi Neil, The 120 kHz frequency is generated by the Pic (The PWM output). As the clock for the Pic is derived from a crystal, the 120KHz is very accurate. A optocoupler sepeates the Pic from the mains. The actual driver consists of a few transsistors and a LC network.
