Jim, =20 Great tip.... you guessed it, I must not have the GD library (per error 'Can't locate GD.pm......') issued when querying with perl -e 'use GD'. =20 So, I'll have to find GD, or figure out how to build it. Might you = direct me to a download site? =20 Thanks in advance, =20 =20 =20 Glenn =20 -----Original Message----- From: mis...@li... Subject: RE: [work] RE: [mh] Getting .pl files to work on Fedora 3 = (Linux) Glenn, =20 If you find out that you do not have the GD library at all then there = are libraries that it depends on that need to be loaded first... Try=20 perl -e 'use GD' if all is ok it will say nothing otherwise perl will tell you it can not find it within - all the = directories it knows to link. (unless you remember building it - it was not there out of the box for = FC2) Jim =20 -----Original Message----- From: mis...@li... Subject: RE: [work] RE: [mh] Getting .pl files to work on Fedora 3 = (Linux) =20 Jim, =20 Great information.... I'll try later tonight with regard to CPAN and the = GD perl library. =20 I tried to copy some of the public.pl scripts into the main main, = however, Misterhouse's configurator didn't see the new routines. I also tried to modify the private.ini file per the docs and Misterhouse would hang on startup. Perhaps I should try the symbolic links first (rather than = copy). =20 Gotta believe there is a solution - will find it by brute force, no = doubt. =20 BTW, has anyone integrated with an HP DE100C for support of MP3 playback = and ripping? It's a great product ( http://www.k0lee.com/de100c/default.htm = ), with the OS based on a RH6 code base. =20 Best Regards, =20 =20 =20 =20 Glenn =20 -----Original Message----- From: mis...@li... Subject: [work] RE: [mh] Getting .pl files to work on Fedora 3 (Linux) Glenn, =20 I'm implemented on Linux Fedora 2 - some ideas that may help. =20 I had problems with the button.pl generating the auto buttons (those = that don't have custom graphics icons) which I think I finally fixed by using CPAN to do a forced reinstall of the GD perl library. (CPAN said it was there - it worked with some test examples but would not work with mh). = Also 2.98 used the distribution directory as the location for the web cache (which means you need to look at permissions if you don't run as root), = 2.99 moved the web cache to the data directory. (see: Problems with on the fly creation of Web Buttons). =20 On the public .pl scripts. I think they are included as examples that = you can copy into your own code directory and modify - since many of the = public scripts have hard coded values you might need to change (e.g. a = particular X11 address, etc). So I've never tried to run them from their current location. =20 The common .pl scripts of course can be turned on from the Web MrHouse = Setup menu. =20 It took me a while to sort out my directory and permissions but I'm very happy with using the linux symbolic links to manage upgrades, and = production code directories - with mh installed in a way that the program, or = typical users can not damage it. (see: Default Directory for logs) =20 Jim -----Original Message----- From: mis...@li... [mailto:mis...@li...] On Behalf Of = Glenn Jensen Sent: June 19, 2005 7:43 PM To: mis...@li... Tried installing = on XP as well, same issue. =20 Also, I have a few missing icons (looks like the button.pl is not = running properly) - only on my linux install (on the news section under button.pl?news . =20 Any ideas? =20 =20 =20 Glenn =20 |
