I have defined a bunch of stuff and locations and whatnot in items.mht. If anyone wants to d/l it to follow along, they can get it at http://www.ladle.net/~rob/items.mht Now, as I understand it, the main power behind items.mht is read_table_A.pl, or its counterpart, read_table_xml(?).pl, correct? I am "browsing by category" through the web interface, and have a few statements / questions. 1. A group with no items in it should not be shown in the browser. It might be defined in the items.mht to get the floorplan to working right, but if it is empty, why put it in the web interface? 2. Any group should have an "all on" or "all off" Would anyone mind if I added these things to read_table_A.pl, so that they are implemented? 1. what is the right implementation for this? I thought about automatically adding $Groupname -> hidden(1); for each one. But can a group be hidden? I just tried, and even though the xlation for the groups get the hidden(1) set on them by read_table_A.pl, the web interface still shows them. hrmmm... 2. Is there already "all on" or "all off" code? I would then add auto-generators for it in the read_table_A.pl code. I ask about the "all on" code because it would seem to me that an "all on" or "all off" would need to work the way down the list one at a time, with a pause between each one. Also, if a 2-way was involved in the game, it would also be able to verify the settings before moving on. thanks, rob |
