[misterhouse-users] Variable in another package question

Now that I've figured out that if I don't check for the error message
I won't know anything about it I want to access some of the Jabber
variables from handy_net_utilities.pl. How do I go about referencing
$jabber_connection in my user jabber code?

Here is an example of what I want to do:

$jabber_connection->SetStatus("JBSH, up and running");

This, of course, gives me:

Global symbol "$jabber_connection" requires explicit package name at (eval 
729495) line 5306.
Global symbol "$jabber_connection" requires explicit package name at (eval 
729495) line 5308.

I've tried:

$main::$jabber_connection->SetStatus("JBSH, up and running");

but I get the same error.
