There must be a wire going to the light to complete the circuit. Perhaps it actually comes down in box A and one of the three wires is intended to come back to that. It sounds like your one wire short of being able to do this, but there is an option. Leave the white wire disconnected on the switch in box B. The leds won't work, but the switch should. The three wires going to the box will have to carry the load (light), hot, and the remote traveler. The white will be capped of with a wire nut or tape. I can sympathize with you. All of my three ways that are not in a double-gang box with another switch are missing a neutral. One of these the three way was not often used and I just skipped installing it. I just hardwired the light to the main switch using one of the travelers and put a blank plate over the switch box. -----Original Message----- From: mis...@li... I had to go in the attic and see where they went. The companion switch needs to be in the box that has power coming into it from the breaker box. The 2380 needs to be in the box that has the wire going to the light. My setup had power coming into box A, connected to a companion switch then going to box B with Black, White, Red. The Black and White carry hot and neutral over to box B. The red wire is attaches to box A's companion switch. Box B has another set of Black, White, and Red going over to Box C. Black and White are tied to Box B's white and black. The red wire ties to Box B's companion switch. (I'm not home now but I think all the companion switches have the yellow wires tied to the red runner wires in parallel). Box C 2380 has the yellow wire tied to the red runner wire from box B. The red wire from the 2380 goes to the light. I don't know if this confused you at all but it is how I had to wire mine. Assuming Box B has your wires going to the light I would think you would wire it this way (I found the pictures to be confusing and found that the text directions helped out a lot. Also look at the direcitons for the companion switch, I think they help also (these are from memory but feel right so check things out before letting the magic smoke out of anything): Box A white (from breaker) is connected to the white on the runner wires and to the companion switch (because they have an led that gets powered from here). Box A black (from breaker) is connected to the black on the runner wires and to the companion switch. Box A red runner wire (going to box B) is connected to the yellow wire from the companion switch. Box B white (from box A) connects to the 2380 white and to the light. Box B black (from box A) connects to the 2380 black. Box B red (from box A) connects to the yellow wire on 2380.
