Actually none of the p-III motherboards I have installed have any isolation.. I have about 35 seperate machines here and 3 dual P-III systems at home with every mounting screw grounded to the case and with no plastic washers. in fact I haven't seen a case that has came with plastic standoffs for at least 3 years... although I dont use consumer stuff anymore... 19" rack mount computers or all aluminum cases are all I use anymore. absolutely none of my ASUS motherboards have ever stated they needed to be isolated. (Yes, I do read the manuals :-) it might be a regional thing (this grounded/isolated difference), or just because I use rack mount cases... they might be different. anyways.. do you have a DVM? check each hole solder pad to see if it is ground... if so then grounding ground to ground is not a bad thing. -----Original Message----- From: Benny D. The PS , power cord and cabling will provide sufficient grounding. Most MB's I've put it in, which I'm using a Dual PIII right now, have the plastic standoffs for mounting.
