I installed the USB to serial interface on a machine that already had 2 serial ports. The USB serial interface is coming up as COM3. So when I modified my script (mh -run X10_control A 9 ON) to use COM3 instead of COM1 I get: the following error message: Running: X10_control A 9 ON Missing REQUIRED setting for BAUD at X10_control line 80 write_settings failed, closing port at X10_control line 80 Error with x10_control: Count not set up port. My script is similar to test_x10. The line 80 it fails on is "$device->dtr_active(1);". I believe it does manage to open the port, but is unable to write to it. Subsequently, after installing this, I'm unable to use COM2 and LPT1. But, no big deal. Any help would be appreciated.
