The script that I got from Bill Bass uses the older weeder type and it looks like you have to add "D" to the start of every string sent to or read from the weeder. I bought my board about 8 months ago and it did not require (or support this). You have to have the unit code (weeder unit identifier) followed by the command. The best way to test this would be to shut mh down and use a commm program to talk to the weeder. I use kermit, but minicom and others should work OK. Just connect to the right serial line and then type in your unit code and command. For instance, I have my weeder set to the default "A" code, so I send "AM" and I get back "AM" to let me know that the board is initialized. It is best to rule out problems with communication to the weeder in general before you put mh into the mix.
