#1854 Slice label in second position disappears off screen

Slice label gets gradually more and more offset, until the last slice has disappeared completely

Yep--thanks for beating me to posting that one! Would the cure be to make
Ravels transparent, or to place the text in Ravels at the top level of the
screen?
