Just a heads up that 3.2-alpha.14 is released for all you beta testers
out there.
Windows/Mac builds are available from FRS
(https://sourceforge.net/projects/minsky/files/beta%20builds/), and
Linux builds from OBS
(https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:hpcoder1/minsky-beta). Note
that recent Debian and debian based distros are not currently building
Minsky, another issue I need to investigate.
The big thing in this release is switching to a Big Sur (MacOS 11)
build environment, and using the new Apple notarization
protocol. Please check that everything looks good, if you're a Mac
user running Big Sur or later. Sorry to anyone stuck on an earlier
version of MacOS - technically I can still build Minsky releases until
November 1st, which is Apple's "go dark day", but unless there's great
demand, I'll just stick with the new build system. It was about two
weeks of battling obscure error messages, cryptic apple documentation
and hints and suggestions on Stack Overflow and other forums to figure
out how to to do this. I wish "It just works", as Apple used to market
their system, but as I saw one wit say "It used to just work".
There are some other changes, mostly related to data handling, and CSV
importing. There's a new tensor operator called "slice", that allows
you to pick the top or bottom n elements along a specified tensor
dimension.
