hi, the install.bat file doesn't work too well with Windows 7, with both program files and program files(x86) directories. I tried copying the files into a directory in x86 and then executed the minsky.exe. It came up, but when i load an example and run it goes off and does lots of computation without showing me the model it loaded. So i suspect the install process didn't complete properly, i.e. libraries may not be correctly mapped. How can it fix it up?
thx
You didn't report which version of Minsky you attempted to install, but I tried the latest beta build.
1) You have to run install.bat as administrator. It will fail if you don't, in a rather confusing way to the user, due to UAC controls.
2) When run from "explorer", it doesn't install properly, but when run from the command line it does.
Weird that nobody has reported this problem before. Possibly reinstall works fine, but not install into a fresh system, so nobody noticed.
I'll raise a ticket...
Thanks, I changed my account settings so it didn't prompt for approving a system change (I was already administrator) and then the .bat script worked ok when run from the command line. It might also have worked from explorer but didn't try. version win 1D9
