MacOSX installer options
System dynamics program with additional features for economics

Minsky is distributed a self-contained application (technically a
"bundle"), which could be distributed as either a .pkg file (as is
done now) or as a .dmg disk image file.
Clearly .dmg format has the advantage that you can install the
software anywhere, or run the application directly from the disk
image. This is important for people who do not have superuser access,
of course.
The downside to me, is that it seems counterintuitive to drag the app
to the Applications folder to install it, rather than double-clicking,
but then I'm not a Mac user (nor am I a Windows user, for that
matter), and many things about the Mac are counterintuitive for me.
Clear both .pkg and .dmg are possible distribution options. But I'd
prefer to distribute one or the other, rather than both, to halve
bandwidth and storage impacts to SourceForge.
Any opinions please?
