This must be the umpteenth duplicate report for an issue which we are powerless to address, much less resolve.

The diminishing number of download failures, on repeated retries, are symptomatic of download throttling, by whichever mirror provider SourceForge has designated to service your download requests; if that issue persists, you should raise it with SF directly.

The "unexpected end of archive" errors are symptomatic of premature termination of a download, (or possibly substitution of HTML garbage), once again by the mirror service provider, (or possibly caused by a fault in your network infrastructure). In this case, you should remove the defective file from your %MINGW_ROOT%\var\cache\mingw-get\packages directory, (where %MINGW_ROOT% is a symbolic representation of the top level directory into which you've installed MinGW -- it doesn't represent an environment variable, unless you've defined it as such), before you retry the installation. Once again, if the issue persists, you may wish to consider raising it with SF directly.

Seriously, if this is the umpteenth duplicate report, maybe you need to consider moving off Sourceforge. Sourceforge is all but unusable from my apartment, on my 150mbps symmetrical fiber Internet connection, and yes, the problem could be on my ISP's end, but based on the fact that you have gotten tons of complaints, I'm betting it's not.

I really need to download Mingw tonight, and I don't think I'm going to be able to.
