Hello,

I observe incredibly slow ssh behaviour with the openssh ssh binary from MSYS on Windows 7 Enterprise (64 bit). I first thought that this is a bug in the VirtualBox NAT networking stack and filed a bug at their issue tracker https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/13545.

After more analysis I got aware that

1.) cygwin and PuTTY are quite fast when connecting to the VirtualBox guest
2.) MSYS ssh is slow even when connecting to other ssh servers (non virtualized)

I tried the following MSYS openssh binaries:

1.) OpenSSH_6.6.1p1, OpenSSL 1.0.1i 6 Aug 2014 (from msysgit https://msysgit.github.io/)
2.) OpenSSH_5.4p1, OpenSSL 1.0.0 29 Mar 2010 (as installed by the MinGW installation manager just downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw/files/)

I attach package captures (from rawcap) showing a cygwin ssh session and a mingw ssh session. The captures can be analyzed in WireShark.
