To avoid having to double commit everything, let's just let the HEAD be 0.4.4. When something comes along that would be a new feature instead of just a bug fix, we'll make a branch for 0.4.4 (And maybe even cut a release), and go back to letting HEAD be 0.5. This is being a little bit sloppy, but the rate of change seems to be low enough right now that I don't really see it being a problem.
