Minecraft Manager 3 on the horizon.

Get ready. Minecraft Manager is becoming more and more advanced, where it's even turning into one click modding software for Mac. In fact, Minecraft Manager is one of the most advanced modding apps for Mac. Automated. Simple. Brilliant.

Ok, now the reason Minecraft Manager 3 is coming out now is because it's the weekend (for Australian people) and I now have some free time. I am trying to make everything more simple for you.... read more

Manual? Bah!

Great news! I have had a brainwave in coding, and I have figured out how to zip up the minecraft folder Minecraft Manager extracts, with all files at root! What does this mean? It means that you will no longer need to zip it up yourself, just find the folder, and Minecraft Manager does the rest!

Not yet though! This feature and more is only in the Minecraft Manager 3 dev builds.

64-bit only!

As a result of Lion (forgot to post this a while ago) I removed 32-bit support off Minecraft Manager, because, well, who uses 32-bit processors? If you desperately need Minecraft Manager, go get 2.1.3.

OTA updates

Hey guys.

Minecraft Manager will have OTA updates, so you don't download from SF.

2.1.6 is out - brand new update framework!

Hey folks!

Great news! I have successfully incorporated the Sparkle framework into Minecraft Manager. Which means it is 110% compatible with Lion now!

Wonderful news!

I have changed my mind about the Lion support. I will be incorporating Sparkle into Minecraft Manager. So you will still be able to use Minecraft Manager all the way to 10.4!

Minecraft Manager 10.7 and newer only

That title may have annoyed you, but it's true. I am dropping support for Mac OS X 10.6 (all releases) and lower. It really helps make life easier.

Continuing on...

I will try to get a dev build out as soon as I can get access to my source code. Wish me luck.

Can't pin this down!

Hey folks.

Lion was released weeks ago. I thought I posted about trying to get Lion support but strangely it didn't publish. Anyway,

I have been trying to get Minecraft Manager working properly on Lion. The problem is, Apple made Lion smaller by removing all the PowerPC code (including Rosetta), and they removed one key AppleScript feature - URL Access Scripting. This is what I use to download the update files in Minecraft Manager. Now that it's gone, it tries to look for the app, but it fails, and the whole app ceases to function. Brilliant.... read more

2.1.4 is out, currently a debug release

2.1.4 is out, and it is a debug release. These releases are brought out when final versions parse errors while being built, hence can't continue being built. I call these 'emergency builds'.

2.1.3db2

2.1.3db2 is released. It features a small fix for the setup feature, which replaces URL Access Scripting with cURL. Minecraft.net's minecraft server appears to be corrupt for some reason.

NOTICE: These are developer builds. DO NOT USE THEM AS NORMAL BUILDS.

2.1.3db1

2.1.3db1 is released, which has a feature that must be tested - a server setup feature. Report bugs to evilgoldfish@users.sourceforge.net.

NOTICE: These are developer builds, not stable builds. DO NOT USE THEM AS NORMAL BUILDS.

Instead... Dev Builds

Instead of beta or nightly builds I am building dev builds. These builds are INCOMPLETE, and are only meant for developers. Please don't download it as a usual build. The release notes on sf.net are written for devs. Don't ask me what the hell does it mean if you're not a dev! It makes it really annoying and frustrating.

2.1.2 brings back updates on startup!

Hey guys!
I have released 2.1.2 to fix some bugs. 1st, I have fixed a bug that caused the update window to become unresponsive when closed.
2nd, update on startup has been brought back! Featuring a piece of code that checks if your internet / Dropbox is available. If it returns an error, Dropbox is down, or the internet isn't available. In very rare cases, it might be that cURL isn't installed on your Mac.... read more

No beta/nightly builds

I changed my mind - no nightly builds. It would take up too much time.

Things to expect later on

Things to expect later on:
Map rendering to save as a png.
Downloading updates in-app, stopping the need to open your browser.
A listing of Minecraft Manager on Move It Studios.

2.1 is out!

Hey everyone! Minecraft Manager 2.1 is out, with it's new update system, and now, a new record!
Well, it's 2.1.1 now, anyway. I found a bug where the cancel button on the update window didn't function. In less than 5 minutes, I was able to fix the problem.

Anyway, Minecraft Manager 2.1.1 set a new record. It is now the smallest app in terms of file size out of every version, with other versions being 2 MB and over (1.0 was 5 MB!), but with 2.1.1 at 700 KB uncompressed!... read more

To add...

Due to Apple's decision to shut down iDisks in July 2012, I have moved the files to a Dropbox server. The old update system still works, but you must update by July 2012 otherwise it will cease to function.

Posted by evilGoldfish 2011-07-03

Update System finished in 2.1!

Good news everyone! I just finished the update system for Minecraft Manager 2.1, making it that it should be out by today or tomorrow! Woohoo!

Posted by evilGoldfish 2011-07-03

2.1 Updates Coming Soon!

OK, I have been trying my best to bring you Minecraft Manager 2.1 ASAP. I'm almost done, I just haven't gotten around to sanding out the rough edges. I will also start releasing beta builds, so to fix any bugs that come through.

Posted by evilGoldfish 2011-06-27

Here's one feature...

I will modify the update system to display release notes.

Posted by evilGoldfish 2011-04-25

New update soon... 2.0.1

Will have some new features, I'll keep you updated.

Also, when using software like Inside Job or Mod Manager, you have to quit Minecraft. Part of the save game is still loaded when you quit, which may increase the risk of corruption.
