some Windows users (as for myself both on Win7 and Win10) when trying to install a new package, trying to update,or trying to change repository directories, receive ahe "unsupported protocol" error message.

Is this the same error? I got this error since yesterday from my Windows 8.1 64 bit with Net Installer setup-2.9.6300-x64 to mirror the installatio directory. Otherwise, I will create a new bug report.
