My name is Scott (I go under the names redbrick and Blades elsewhere). I am thrilled to find that this control is being updated. I have taken a long break from making attempts at programming, and in the past, I've chatted with Mike L regarding issues I was haing with the old Mabry controls under .NET (which I eventually worked out as an old property that was a new reserved word and I needed to change my references).
I am looking to write some applications dealing with the Roland TD-20 (drum brain) and this control will be a great help in doing so. I just need Roland to cough up the midi and sysex info that I need to communicate. Any ideas on who to contact would be quite welcome.

Perhaps just as you noticed, the manual kind of sucks. Chapter 10 indicates program change and some parameters that the module responds to. But most of the descriptions use the control panel of the module and not midi or sysex.

Yeah...I even got the "midi implementation" manual from Roland (cost me $11), and it contains SOME more info, but not the stuff I need. It has everything down to the record layout to use for the send and receive sysex commands, but not the memory map/address map of the locations of data within.
I am really having a hard time obtaining this info.

No. that's the regular manual. I have that AND the special "midi implementation" add-on manual (which is not downloadable), yet there still is insufficient data.
In fact, I don't really underatand why they didn't just include the doc I got (the implementation) in the manual, as it is only about 12 pages and some of it is already in the regular manual.
Ripping my hair out,
Scott

Sorry I could not get back to you sooner. There is a owners manual for Roland TD20 at,

etc.
Have fun.

Is this of any help?

Is this not enough?

Neuwirthe,
No. that is the same as the owners manual, whcih is lacking the info I need. The extra "midi implementation" guide is also missing it.
This is apparently pretty elusive info, as Roland tech says it doesn't exist - where I know it HAS to - I just can't get my hands on it.
I suppose what I'm looking for most is some contact info that may get me in touch with the right folks.
