Can u tell me how u solve the GPS antenna issue? I got a problem in getting the GPS signal, a long time to lock and error GPS signal sometimes. I guess the problem is from the antenna shipped.
Can u tell me which antenna u are using? or how u solve the problem?
Another question is about GPS lock. I have read through Microgear source code. It looks like the GPS lock information is not available. How you make sure that the GPS lock is achieved?
Curt, thanks for sharing your code on using MNAV and Gumstix. Good work.

We are just using the standard antenna shipped with MNAV. The one thing I observe is that the antenna has to be spaced far enough from other transmitters on board the aircraft (such as our video transmitter or our radio modem) and our RC receiver has to be spaced far enough from these as well to avoid noise and interference issues.
The MNAV gps connector is pretty fragile so if you do have a problem with just the plain MNAV and no other transmitters nearby ... then maybe double check that your connector is still soldered to the gps board. And maybe try adding a ground plane, clear view of the sky, etc. etc. But it should work ok with the stock antenna.
I'm a software guy, not an RF guy so you can probably get better advice for fixing interference problems from someone other than me (assuming this is an interference problem.)
Regards,
Curt.
