So click userX. Delete what=20 you can. Clich other items and delete what you can. And so on. At last -=20 when you have any more items below userX - you can delete userX. Erik |

Dear all
I've the same problem now.
(My idea of importing files edited outside the MPF was not such a good id=

I did a reinstall of the platform=20
Translating the interface gives the same problem with diacriticals as Hun=

As to the answers Sergio Silva gave, I'm far form a JAVA and Tomcat exper=

Onderwerp: [michaeltech] Hungarian MICHAEL platform problems {01}
Dear all,
We have installed the Michael platform on a Linux server and we have some=
problems we didn't have until we tested the sw on Windows.
The problem:
The Hungarian characters (accentuated - =C3=A1=C3=A9=C3=AD=C3=B3=C3=B6=C5=
=91=C3=BA=C3=BC=C5=B1) are replaced by ?? when
saving them to the database. The problem comes up only when saving the da=
ta
to the database. During the recording of the data we can navigate back an=
d
forth between the input screens, and the Hungarian characters remain inta=
ct.
After installation there are some (French) sample data and they are
readable, but after editing them all the accentuated letters change to ??=
as
well.
When we export the data (download), the ??-s are there in the .xml files a=
s
well.
We tested it on several other Linux systems, the problem remained the sam=
e,
but the problem doesn't come up in the Windows installations. We also tes=
ted
several different browsers (Firefox, IE, Opera, both Hungarian and Englis=
h
distributions) and several encodings, the problem remains, when testing a=
db
on Linux.
The system:=20
- Ubuntu Linux 5.04,=20
- Tomcat 5.0.28,=20
- 1.4.2_09 JAVA
The working (Windows) system:
- Windows XP
- Tomcat=C2=A0=C2=A05.0.28
- JAVA 1.4.2_12
Any help would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Peter Zsolt

Kate Thanks for your quick answer, but this does not work. I changed the settings for user michael to content administrator then logged in anew. Dear listmembers Found a way to prevent this "fatal error at line -1: Premature end of file."=20 The reason for this error is probably the sequence in which things to = do. After importing the lists, I created a dutch instance by coying the = *_en.xml files in the Xdepo-local\translations dir. Then I get the = French interface because this is the toplevel language entry. What I did was kill the *-nl.xml files, which made the dutch instance = disappear again.=20 Next I started adding some translations for the headers in the English = instance. The error stayed away and after recreating the Dutch instance = the headers showed up nicely in Dutch. I'll see if this works after translating everything in the English = instance. Somehow things get wrongly interpreted by the software if you open = another language instance first =20 For the diacriticals this does not work Kind regards Henk ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Henk Matthezing Koninklijke Bibliotheek / National Library of the Netherlands Research & Development - project coordinator MICHAEL+ and STITCH POB 90407 - 2509 LK Den Haag / The Hague - The Netherlands=20 Phone: +31 70 31 40 687 - Mobile: +31 6 12 46 17 55 hen...@kb... - http://www.kb.nl - = http://www.michael-culture.org/ - http://stitch.cs.vu.nl/ -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: mic...@li... = [mailto:mic...@li...] Namens Karl M=E4rker Verzonden: dinsdag 21 november 2006 15:43 Aan: 'For implementers of the MICHAEL software platform' Onderwerp: [michael-impl] Antw: Re: [michaeltech] HungarianMICHAEL = platformproblems {01} Dear Peter: I have experienced the same problem using Tomcat 5.0 _and_ the patches = given by Martin for Tomcat 5.5. Dear Karl et.al.
@Karl: I was a bit in a hurry, yesterday. Must have included a hard =
return or something while copy-n-pasting the option in.
Did it again this morning using just a space between this and other =
options. Tomcat started properly.
@allListMembers:
But my problems persist:
1 The diacriticals are still there
2 Editing all menu-entries that are directly accessible in the =

in ::Home:: or ::Root and try to save. The platform switches to the next =
submenu level with: a "fatal error at line -1: Premature end of file." =
entry above the path. It persist even after completely reinstalling a =
clean MPF. I attached a ppt with images of 3 pages to show what's =
happening.
This is the 3rd time I mention this last point but did anybody encounter =
this? Doesn't seem so as nobody reacts.=20
I don't see any answers coming from our software supplier to our =
questions so I started wondering if AJLSM is still among us;-)=20
Kind regards

Onderwerp: [michaeltech] Hungarian MICHAEL platform problems {01}
Dear all,
We have installed the Michael platform on a Linux server and we have some=
problems we didn't have until we tested the sw on Windows.
The problem:
The Hungarian characters (accentuated - =C3=A1=C3=A9=C3=AD=C3=B3=C3=B6=C5=
=91=C3=BA=C3=BC=C5=B1) are replaced by ?? when
saving them to the database. The problem comes up only when saving the da=
ta
to the database. During the recording of the data we can navigate back an=
d
forth between the input screens, and the Hungarian characters remain inta=
ct.
After installation there are some (French) sample data and they are
readable, but after editing them all the accentuated letters change to ??=

well.
When we export the data (download), the ??-s are there in the .xml files a=

We tested it on several other Linux systems, the problem remained the sam=

on Linux.
The system:=20

The working (Windows) system:

Any help would be appreciated.

Dear all, We have installed the Michael platform on a Linux server and we have = some problems we didn't have until we tested the sw on Windows. The problem: The Hungarian characters (accentuated - =E1=E9=ED=F3=F6=F5=FA=FC=FB) are = replaced by ?? when saving them to the database. The problem comes up only when saving the = data to the database. During the recording of the data we can navigate back = and forth between the input screens, and the Hungarian characters remain = intact. After installation there are some (French) sample data and they are readable, but after editing them all the accentuated letters change to = ?? as well. When we export the data (download), the ??-s are there in the .xml files = as well. We tested it on several other Linux systems, the problem remained the = same, but the problem doesn't come up in the Windows installations. We also = tested several different browsers (Firefox, IE, Opera, both Hungarian and = English distributions) and several encodings, the problem remains, when testing = a db on Linux. The system:=20 - Ubuntu Linux 5.04,=20 - Tomcat 5.0.28,=20 - 1.4.2_09 JAVA The working (Windows) system: - Windows XP - Tomcat 5.0.28 - JAVA 1.4.2_12 Any help would be appreciated. Best regards, Peter Zsolt |

But unfortunately I have two other problems: 1) the generation an entity=20 identifier, 2) the "delete" does not work on Linux? (On windows it works!= ) Do you have any documents with these thing? Hello,
Thank you for your answer.
The question is: Have you self done the procedure, which did make the
identifier
IT-DC-112b9....
Or have you ordered it from AJLSM?
Anyway, could somebody advice me how to make such a procedure?
For example in this help there is said:
<message key="physical-collection.identifier.help">
<p>Please make sure the identifier you type in is unique in the
current database. it is strongly
suggested to use a prefix such as <b>MPF-</b>. *In
the future, semi-automatic procedures
can be put in place to generate identifiers.</p>*
</message>
**
Do you have any documents how to do this?*
*Best regards
Erik Hovi

Erik, OK this works.=20 But while editing the folder headers (ie 'Dossier Importants' in Homepage :: Home :: Root > michael > menu > mylinks) I get a " fatal error at line -1: Premature end of file. " and the nl-translation is not saved properly.=20 I edited all the files outside the database, and by importing the relevant _meta.xml file like the files in the Lists directory (as Kate wrote earlier) the folder header shows properly. I somehow was put on the wrong leg, that outside changes to these files would be automatically detected by the db as was with copying *-en.xml to *-nl.xml files in the translations directory in xdepo-local. Bit stupid of me. Nice to know I can import these files also. Once the server version is installed I don't have to do this editing again;-) @ Martin Sevigny: You can cancel this help call. Thanks very much Kind regards Henk -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: mic...@li... The point is this: You must click every "edit" image and add an instance for "nl". For example to add "Workspace 1": 1) Workspace management, 2)=20 click "edit" image, 3) add "Workspace 1" for "nl". Then do the same for every "edit" image at ::Home and ::Root. Erik ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
