Currently, filters chains may break, because one filter output is nor accepted as input in the following filter. Depending on the filters this may happen only after considerable processing time. By providing a pre-check on the pixel type transition done by the filter chain, one could avoid this kind of run-time overhead.
Question: how to handle the loading/saving of images - especially to the internal data pool?
