Remember you must unlock your phone (call provider for how to) and set your APN settings appropriately again consult your provider or dig on Google

This also enables Google Maps and Opera without the annoying network dialog. Cingular decided to cripple the JVM for some reason.
Works for me now. Cingular (AT&T) Motorola v3xx, 3G and EDGE.
