Hello,
I am hoping to get some information regarding metalog's behavior within
a chrooted environment. I am using rssh to jail sftp users, and logging
isn't working following an sftp user's login. I have been asking
questions on the rssh mailing list, and the rersponse I have received
indicates that I need to create a socket for metalog to write to inside
the chroot environment.
Now my question is, what does a socket represent in this case? Is it
simply a read/writeable file? I have the sftp-server subsystem set up
to log all user actions to /var/log/sftpd/. This works fine for regular
users who are not chrooted, however no logging is taking place for
chrooted users. I am trying to figure out exactly what needs to be done
to allow metalog to log these events. I have tried making a
/var/log/sftpd directory inside the jail, with no effect.
Any help would be appreciated!
