Please excuse me if this is not the right place to report. Meshlab UI took me here.
The import mesh and other file operations in Meshlab are working systematically bad in Linux Mint 15 (and 14). This happens at least in 1.3.0 and 1.3.3BETA, different computers, fresh installs. Meshlab 1.3.0 comes with the default repositories, 1.3.3BETA I am getting it from zarquon's. Pretty much is impossible to make Meshlab work with out of the box because of this.
I suspect some problem with an unsatisfied or wrongly satisfied dependencies, since I made this work in the past in the same systems (with 1.3.2 if I remember correctly), but it is no longer available at zarquon ppa I cannot reproduce it (making it work, not the bug, the bug happens every time). Once I reinstalled the system from scratch I cannot figure out how to make this work again on the same system.
However apt manager does not inform of any unsatisfied dependencies and neither the log does gives any clue about anything wrong. 1.3.3BETA says nothing. Downgrading to 1.3.0 leads to the same behaviour but slightly more informative warning messages for each polygon:
Warning there is a degenerate (sic) poligon of 3 (sic)verteces that was triangulated into 0 triangles
Forgot to clarify that forcing i386 version of the 1.3.3BETA (and 1.3.0) works well on the same system, it is only the 64 bits version that does this. I am aware this might well be just a packaging issue and could be solved by compiling from sources, but still Meshlab is not very informative about something being wrong and it might be potentially affecting every 64bit Mint user as far as I know, from version 1.3.0 to 1.3.3BETA. At least this happened to me several times in the last months in different systems but was lazy to report it since I found a workaround.
