This bug lasts up to the most recent version of Meshlab 64-bit, v1.3.2.
Cause:
The crash occurs if the OBJ file contains a mixture of textured and non-textured faces. (This may happen in some cases with "123D Catch" - works as designed.)
Indeed, the 32-bit edition of Meshlab handles the situation properly.
