Paul Mackerras did some profiling on G5 with an r300 and found that we wast= e a=20 whole lot of time moving pixel data around. It may be possible to build a= =20 "DRI" driver that just provides fast access to the raw framebuffer, and run= =20 the Mesa software rasterizer directly on that. DirectFB people may commenc= e=20 laughing at the foolish X people now. The x11_dri driver would be a good place to put that sort thing, if I would= =20 ever finish it. =2D - ajax =2D----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFA4KRCW4otUKDs0NMRAlOIAKDd3ybpcx5rvhSVgB2dNHuStlDK0QCgqud8 RwkZrOR5EXL9xD3/IwHUU6E=3D =3D2ImV =2D----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
