[mesa-users] Status of OP_a09 tables?

Hi all,

I just tried to run a model in r7624 using

    kappa_file_prefix = 'OP_a09'

which is listed as one of the options in star_job.defaults.  However, I 
get the error message


  NOTICE: missing kap data /home/astro84/wball/mesa/7624/data/kap_data/OP_a09_z0m0_x00.data

  Please check the validity of the kap_prefix string for this file.

  If it is okay, you may need to install new kap data.
  To do that, remove the directory mesa/data/kap_data,
  and rerun the mesa ./install script.

Sure enough, the data isn't there.  There's nothing starting just with 
"OP_a09"...

...but a lot of files starting with "OP_a09_nans_removed_by_hand"!  Now, 
just to be sure, I followed the instruction to remove mesa/data/kap_data 
and reinstalled.  This didn't make any difference.

I vaguely recall there being a discussion about the OP_a09 tables being 
buggy, and a quick search in the archive took me to

which suggests that there was some bug in the OP data, which was 
temporarily fixed by "interpolating by eye", which is presumably the 
reason for the "nans_removed_by_hand".  But that was more than 18 months 
ago, and I haven't managed to find anything newer.  (I apologize if I've 
missed something!)

So, in short, what's up with these tables?  Are they currently usable?  I 
ask for a comparison I'm making when modelling Sun-like solar-like 
oscillators, if there's some rho-T regime in which the tables are okay.
