I like the program, just wondering if you are still plugging along?  The megamek website claims you have abandoned the project ..

Abandoned is such a strong word...

      Main Entry: 1aban·don
      Pronunciation: &-'ban-d&n
      Function: transitive verb
Etymology: Middle English abandounen, from Anglo-French abanduner, from (mettre) a bandun to hand over, put in someone's control
1 a : to give up to the control or influence of another person or agent b : to give up with the intent of never again claiming a right or interest in <abandon property>
2 : to withdraw from often in the face of danger or encroachment <abandon ship>
3 : to withdraw protection, support, or help from <he abandoned his family>
4 : to give (oneself) over unrestrainedly
5 a : to cease from maintaining, practicing, or using <abandoned their native language> b : to cease intending or attempting to perform <abandoned the escape>

      (from m-w.com)

Not abandoned.  Life has just been taking priority.  Marriage, procreating, moving, changing jobs, etc...

It is not my intention to cease working on this with no intent of returning.

I'm happy to hear that there's at least one person who liked the program.

Yeah, definitely loved the application.  I'm on a Mac so those other non-java programs out there pretty much suck to me.  Looking forward to your next release.  :D

I'm on Vista and this isn't working...

I downloaded a really old version of the program from some site and that works... unfortunately Level 2 equipment wasnt implemented yet in it... so it is pretty much useless.

I just discovered this application because it is
available in a openSUSE repository. What is the
best Java version for this app? I get:

      java virtual machine used: /usr/lib/jvm/java/bin/java
      classpath used: /usr/share/java/MekMaker.jar:/usr/share/java/swing-layout.jar
      main class used: com.mekmaker.gui.MainJFrame
      flags used:
      options used:
      arguments used:
Maybe we're running from a JAR?  Here's what the exception was:
      java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: URI is not hierarchical
              at java.io.File.<init>(File.java:335)
              at com.mekmaker.gui.NewDesignDialog.<init>(NewDesignDialog.java:61)
              at com.mekmaker.gui.MainJFrame.<init>(MainJFrame.java:48)
              at com.mekmaker.gui.MainJFrame$5.run(MainJFrame.java:276)
              at java.awt.event.InvocationEvent.dispatch(InvocationEvent.java:209)
              at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(EventQueue.java:461)
              at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForHierarchy(EventDispatchThread.java:242)
              at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(EventDispatchThread.java:163)
              at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:157)
              at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:149)
              at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(EventDispatchThread.java:110)

I can use the program but don't get any controls to save the Mech
      or add Weapons.
