My huge appreciation to all those who developed this great software. I don't care that is free or not.
I used it for years without any problems until now.
My OS: Windows 10 22H2 19045 64-bit
MeGUI version 2913 32-bit
What I have been doing:
- Editing files in Virtualdub and saving them as lossless .avi files. (e.g. 32,163 kbit/s total bitrate)
- Opening the files in MeGUI AVS Script Creator then File Indexer, Filter, Analyze, AutoEncode, Average Bitrate 2048 kbit/s.
Zero problems.
Then I upgraded to MeGUI version 2933 32-bit...
It crashes with a "try increasing target bitrate" message as attached.
Hope you can solve this.
Thank you very much for the report. This should already be fixed in 2937:
2937 [Video Encoder] fixed not applying the proper bitrate for desired file sizes. Bug #974 (regression of 2930)
Either wait that this will be released as stable (may be in the next days) or switch to using the development builds for now (Options\Extended\Auto Update\Use Development Update server)
Many thanks, Zathor
VideoHelp.com (where I downloaded 2933 from) still says:
Latest version
2933 (March 30, 2023)
I will wait for 2937.
Megui is 2943 now. You need update via developer server
Thanks, Ho Quoc Viet.
But the last "stable" version was 2930 and that has problems.
I'll try the 2937 stable version when it is release and, if no problems, then work up to 2943
Last edit: Phil Smith 2023-05-04
2944 has been released as stable
Many thanks, Zathor and Ho Quoc Viet.
Installed 2944 and its working fine.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Thanks for the feedback :)
