When I open any type of file in the program, I get the following error and the program stops responding.

I use the 2624 version of MeGUI and I use Windows 7 Service Pack 1 with all updates installed

Thank you very much for the report.

It is hard to gues why it crashes in LSMASHSource.dll
You may update your MeGUI version with the development update server as you will get then a way newer LSMASHSource.dll - also it may be helpful to install the redist files:
