Simple feature to enable Aero and Conv fighters the ability to attack more than one target along the flight path during a strike run. This would follow the normal rules for attacking (secondary target modifier, etc).

For example, an aero going over two mechs would have the option of using all his weaponry on one unit, all his weaponry on the other unit, or some of his weaponry on both of them, but with less accuracy.

Aeros used to be able to attack each unit in a line up to five hexes long with an energy weapon strafing run in the old aerotech rules. Having this added back in as an unofficial option would be nice.

Strafing is already implemented in MegaMek.

I disagree with that Ralgith -

This is not a ticket to add strafing, strafing only allows energy weapons to be used and multiplies your firepower with them (one laser can hit multiple units). This is a ticket to allow additional targets to be nominated along the flight path using the conventional secondary target rules - this is for any weapon and it's dividing your firepower, quite the opposite.

EDIT: that said, I think your confusion comes from the first reply to this, which was offtopic and an entirely different request to the original post.

Except that such functionality never existed as far as I can tell. Also, I probably mis-took Vampire_Seraphim's comment as coming from the OP as a clarification thing, and thus thought he was asking for AT2 type strafing rules to be in, when they already are [well the updated version anyway].

For the other... I'll never implement it, but maybe some other dev will. I personally find it silly, especially when the strafing rules are so much better. But that's my opinion.

And, this type of accidental confusion is why we need people to be logged in to post. Yes, it's my fault, but still, it would be infinitely less likely to happen should the OP have been logged in.
