It would be nice, in addition to being able to edit the damage of units, to also change the ammo a unit currently holds.

This is in relation to manually resolve scenarios in MekHQ. See the feature request there https://sourceforge.net/p/mekhq/feature-requests/140/ which has a dependency on MM.

I assume this would also allow for units to start scenarios with depleted ammo.

Looking at it in my current copy of MegaMek, you can already

    (a) edit the ammo levels for ground units in the "Configure" panel (it's in the "Equipment" tab; this doesn't work for aerospace ones, though, fighters use that tab to edit their external ordnance instead and larger craft not at all at the moment); and

    (b) mark individual ammo bins as a whole as "damaged" when editing damage (this does seem to include aerospace ones).

Those are the existing options I can find. I can agree that it'd be nice to have that whole functionality under the same interface instead of two different ones in different ways and be able to edit internal aerospace ammo as well (be that for fighters or WarShips).

(While on the topic, do we really need the "Allow Ammo Dumping in the Lobby" option anymore when anyone can already set the number of shots in any given accessible bin to any number including zero by default?)

Hmm, it seems my earlier post was somehow posted as anonymous, please delete if duplicate.

I had a look at Klaus' suggestions. Yes, it is true that in MegaMek you can edit ammo levels through the 'configure' panel. However, that was not the issue I posted. I am trying to use 'Resolve Manually' for scenarios in MekHQ. This allows you to specify the condition of personnel and units after a scenario through a series of dialogs. However, MekHQ only presents the 'Edit Damage' panel in this flow. Marking the bins as damaged, as suggested isn't really the solution to recording depleted ammo, I think.

Also, MekHQ does not expose the configure panel, so I cannot see a way to edit ammo in there in any way. The issue was originally posted on the MekHQ board, but the dialog seems to be a dependency to MegaMek, hence posting it here.

Adding the functionality, would solve the 'Resolve Manually' issue, add ammo editing to MekHQ and, as a nice bonus, achieve what Klaus is pointing out above, putting all the functionality in a central place. Please consider adding it.
